Work
Software
Here's a partial list of things I've made or contributed to -
LatticeRobot, a community and platform for aggregating and exploring mesoscale geometry such as lattices and textures
Katikati, a 1-to-1 communications platform for non-profit organisations and socially conscious companies that seek to engage with the people they serve in ways that respects their attention and is mindful of their needs.
Coda V2, an interactive tool for labelling short text datasets, used by Africa's Voices Foundation.
Cuscus, a spreadsheet/graphics-editor hybrid designed as part of my PhD research.
SelfRaisingData, a tool for mocking up scatterplots to support discussions, built for my MPhil research
Research
I'm currently in the final stages of completing my PhD (submitted, awaiting viva!), and before then I finished an MPhil degree, both at Cambridge in the Computer Laboratory. The focus of my academic research was studying how data analysts work, and designing new tools that help support analysis and visualisation activities.
A list of publications can be found on my Google Scholar page.
I also help look after the Psychology of Programming Interest Group (PPIG), and help organise its annual conference.
Teaching
While in Cambridge, I used to teach for the HCI-related courses in the undergraduate CS Tripos. I helped with supervisions (small group teaching), practicals (a student group projects), and also to revise and expand the lecture material for Interaction Design in 2022, and co-delivered it then and in 2023.
I've changed the work I used to set for the students a few times over the years; you can find here some of the questions I used to set.
